Alberta Election 2023: Get to know your candidates

Please note: This is an Alberta provincial election resource, last updated May 2023.

Are you ready for May 29th?

Parents for Choice in Education is here to help you make an informed choice.

STEP 1: KNOW WHERE THE POLITICAL PARTIES STAND.

A candidate's affiliation with a political party indicates their broad ideological stance on major issues, and can influence the specific talking points they make on certain topics.

You can find our analysis of each party’s platform, together with a link to their policies, HERE.

STEP 2: KNOW YOUR CONSTITUENCY.

Don't know your constituency? No problem! Elections Alberta has a marvelous site to find your constituency and your poll – just add your address!

STEP 3: KNOW YOUR CANDIDATES.

Select your constituency from this page to find out what they each say about educational choice. We have sent a questionnaire to each one, and some have responded.

Candidates sometimes miss things in the business of an election. If they have not answered yet, please send your candidates this link to our questionnaire.

We have also created a simplified, printable version of our questionnaire, so that you can ask your candidate specific questions – or follow up on their answers on our website.

STEP 4: SPREAD THE WORD.

Please share this resource with others and let's equip as many people as possible to make an informed vote in this important provincial election: Copy the link of our Election 2023 homepage and share it with others via text, email and social media.

STEP 5: VOTE!

After getting to know your candidates and choosing the one who you feel will best represent you, get out to vote and encourage others you know to do the same!
