Important Update for Calgary Board of Education (CBE) parents and electors
Over 4800 parents and electors have signed a petition to force a public school board meeting regarding concerns with CBE sexual orientation and gender identity policies. This number far exceeds the required 2000 signatures outlined in the School Act.
A CBE parent has spearheaded a new blog to help keep parents and electors informed. Please visit http://concernedparentsofcbe.blogspot.ca/ to read the new policies and regulations for yourself, as well as sign up to receive important notices including the date of the public meeting as soon as it is announced. If you are concerned about these policies and how they will impact your K-12 child(ren), it is essential to make every effort to attend the meeting so you can vote for nominees who will best represent your concerns on the committee that will write recommendations of changes. Please attend - your vote will matter!
