In Germany, home education is illegal. This law is a great travesty, a violation of the fundamental rights all parents have as the primary educators of their children.

On August 29th, one home schooling family in Germany faced the brunt of this autocratic law. They had their children taken away. There had been no abuse, and the children were progressing well educationally. But none of that mattered, and the full resources of the law were used to repress the basic rights of this family.

The right to educate your children is not a civil right which can be extended or taken away by the state. It is a basic human right which must be afforded to all.
