New Trustee Voter Guide to help you vote wisely Oct 18!

On October 18th, 2021 during Alberta’s municipal elections, we have the opportunity and responsibility to elect school board trustees within each of Alberta's school districts.

School board trustees set important policies and priorities which directly impact the experience of students and families within their district.

To help you vote wisely, Parents for Choice in Education (PCE) is produced a Trustee Voter Guide with information for over 200 trustee candidates in dozens of school districts across the province.

Even if you don’t have a child in school, or in the public school system, we all pay taxes to fund the system and we all reap the consequences of how it is managed, whether wisely or poorly.

Make your vote count! Our future generations depend on our wise choices today.

PCE will not promote or endorse any particular candidate, nor tell you how you should vote. What we will do is urge every Albertan toward informed decision-making and engaging in the democratic process.

PCE has also prepared 12 important questions to ask school board trustee candidates in Alberta.

Candidates who complete the questionnaire prior to the deadline of October 1st at 4 p.m. will have their responses published on our website early in October as part of our Voter's Guide.

These responses will also be sent through our mailing list and social media to inform tens of thousands of voters prior to the October 18th election.

WANT TO DO MORE?

  • Share the link to our 2021 Trustee Election page with those in your networks and spheres of influence.  Explain to others the importance of being informed and voting for excellent trustee candidates who will best reflect their values and priorities.
  • Send candidates in your area the link to the PCE questionnaire, letting them know their answers are important to you and asking that they complete a response to PCE before the October 1st deadline.
  • Use the questionnaire to provide ideas of questions you can ask if candidates come to your door or if you attend candidate forums and events.
  • Encourage your friends, family, neighbours and coworkers to sign up on our homepage in order to receive updates directly to their inbox.

Let's get ready and work together to ensure the best possible candidates are elected!
