Book a Workshop

Posted on Take Action by John Hilton-O'Brien (ED) · November 26, 2025 1:43 PM

You can book a workshop for your community, political organization, or support group!

Here's what we can teach you:

Election Training:

Election training is done on a non-partisan basis.  We can cover issues such as:

  • How to be a good board members and a functional board,
  • The mechanics of political campaigns including volunteers and staff, signs, literature and websites
  • Campaign resources such as data management
  • Messaging - how to decide on the specific issues to focus on during a campaign.

Case Advocacy:

Case advocacy is about advocating for one specific person - or "case" in a system. It's useful for anyone who might have to advocate for a child in an impersonal system. We can teach you:

  • How to know when advocacy is or isn't helpful
  • How to develop winning relationships with decision-makers
  • To identify the right person to make your case to
  • How and when to escalate a concern
  • How to leverage "best alternative" strategies in negotiation.

Cause Advocacy:

Cause advocacy is all about using public resources to advance a cause - whether that is parental rights, a political stance, or a new school.  Here's what we can teach:

  • How to develop an organization,
  • Legal requirements for types of organizations
  • Basic elements of fundraising
  • How to write letters and op-eds that make a difference
  • How to identify and meet with key decision-makers
