Slate Article Claims: If You Send Your Kid to Private School, You Are a Bad Person

This article appeared in Slate a few days ago, claiming that you are a bad person if you send your children to a private school: (http://www.slate.com/articles/double_x/doublex/2013/08/private_school_vs_public_school_only_bad_people_send_their_kids_to_private.html?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=sm&utm_campaign=button_toolbar&original_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2F8BtpoEs3st)
Reading this, I wondered at first if it was satire. The author's argument is that you should send your kids to the neighbourhood school, even if it is a bad school, in order to 'support public education'. Unfortunately, this article doesn't appear to be intended as satire, even if it reads very much like satire.
