Ron Paul Takes a Bow, Salutes Home Schoolers

Controversial US Congressman Ron Paul has given his last speech in Congress. Paul ran in the last presidential election, and decided not to seek a seat in the Congress so that he could focus on that run. Paul has sought the presidency may times – initially as a Libertarian candidate, then as a Republican. Paul advocates for limited government and personal freedom, in the social and economic sphere.
Congressman Paul’s speech is noteworthy for us because he made specific mention of home schooling. Home schooling rarely is a part of the US national political discussion; however, Paul sees it as having a crucial role in the advanced of his world view. In his view, the movement for less government cannot succeed if young people are all in government-controlled schools. Home schooling, he says, will pave the way for a movement towards a more limited role for government in society.
